Documentary

Bouffants, Beehives and Bobs |
BBC Timeshift, 2013

Jacqueline was a guest contributor to this BBC Timeshift documentary for BBC Four that explored the role hair plays in reflecting the social, cultural and gendered identities of its national populous and the social climate(s) they live in.

The hairstyles worn by male and female musicians of colour (British, American & African) influence those sported by music-buyers world-wide. What does this 'mirroring' say about one's racial, ethnic and fashion identity?

She was involved in the creation of three music-related radio documentaries while employed at the BBC, producing Marvin Gaye: 20 years later for 1xtra, presenting Tupac Shakur: The first martyr of hip hop for the World Service and From Motown to Murder Inc for BBC Radio 4.

Training

BBC Blast/BFI Future Film Festival Imitation vs. Inspiration, London | 2011

Commissioned by BBC Blast as part of the third annual Future Film Festival, this bespoke workshop celebrated the 25th anniversary of EastEnders and classic British cinema and explored the importance of adhering to British Copyright Law.

After watching vintage episodes of the London-based soap opera, its online spin-off E20 and scenes from British films held in the BFI's Mediatheque, attendees explored the themes, social messages and contexts shown before reworking them into new scenes of their own creation.

This workshop cultivated the collective and individual abilities of the attendees to reversion creativity and expand on the perceived limits of an established narrative without infringing copyright.
